The Business Waste Handbook - free waste advice from your local authority

The Business Waste Handbook was originally produced by Leeds City Council to support businesses in Leeds to make the right waste management choices and save money - by cutting waste. Thanks to funding from the Environment Agency the handbook is now available for businesses in all 22 local authorities in Yorkshire and the Humber. It provides specific information and tips for offices, and businesses involved in catering, construction, retail, leisure and tourism, printing and manufacturing. All businesses create waste: from office paper and off-cuts of wood to plastic wrappers and unwanted food. The Business Waste Handbook provides information on how to save money by managing this waste better. The handbook gives advice on reducing both the amount of waste created and materials needing to be bought, reusing materials and recycling as much as possible, as well as waste audits and a guide to legislation. It also includes a list of organisations which can provide further information, guidance and funding to help businesses make changes and reduce their waste disposal costs. Vist your local authority's website to download the handbook for free.
